Patricia's Story
Patricia has illustrated books for the Koorie Early Childhood Kit for Koorie Elders from around Victoria; including (Willah) 'Possum' , 'Beware - The Dance of the Ngutchas' , 'The Kangaroo' , 'Pigabilli' (The Echidna), 'Story of the Sisters' , 'A Day at the River' , A Day at the Bush' , and 'Brolga's Dance' by Fay Lampert. She has also designed a CD cover for 'Colors' (band) Lee Morgan & Co. Patricia has written two children's manuscripts, 'Kalari and the Butterfly' and 'The Rainbow Serpent of the Hopkins River'. Patricia graduated many years ago with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and majored in European Soundings, A and B. She also holds the Graduate Certificate of Nature and Cultural Heritage and Interpretation. Patricia is currently employed as an academic lecturer in Education at Deakin University, Geelong. She teaches a core unit to 2nd, 3rd and 4th year student teachers. This position also involves travel all over Australia. Patricia is also the coordinator of the Koorie Intern Program at Deakin. She has presented lectures on Koorie Perspectives in Curriculum Development at the Burwood Campus to 2nd year student teachers in educational major studies, and also at Melbourne University to 2nd and 3rd year students. Patricia has also taught art (Koorie and European) in primary and secondary schools in the Western District. Patricia arranged and sang 'Vullah Vunnah Nah' with Marcia Howard , on her recent CD, Butterfly.
